The Official Gudetama Cookbook is Coming

Jenn Fujikawa took to Twitter to announce that a new Gudetama cookbook is hitting shelves soon. You can find it in bookstores in October, or you can preorder Gudetama: the Official Cookbook now. Since the cookbook is based on the Sanrio character Gudetama, who is a lazy egg, each of the recipes helpfully includes a “Lazy Meter” so you know exactly how much effort it will take to make. Recipes include: Unmotivated Breakfast Sandwich, Too Tired Tater Tot Bake, Tuckered Out Tamago Sando, and more.

Several times a year, Microsoft founder-turned-philanthropist Bill Gates recommends the best books he’s read lately, and Gates recently announced his latest favorites. As part of a promotional push for his new book How to Avoid a Climate Disaster, Gates participated in a Reddit AMA (Ask Me Anything) where, among other topics, he got into the books he’s been reading. His picks were A Promised Land by Barack Obama, The Overstory by Richard Powers, and Hot Seat by Jeff Immelt.

George R.R. Martin Signs Massive Deal with HBO

Game of Thrones author George R.R. Martin has just signed a new deal with HBO that allows Martin to develop even more series for HBO and HBO Max, including several Game of Thrones spinoffs. Martin’s new deal with HBO spans five years and is worth mid-eight figures. The first Game of Thrones spinoff series to be green-lit, House of the Dragon, goes into production next month.
