Taraji P. Henson in Talks to Produce and Star in Queenie

Taraji P. Henson is in talks to produce and star in Queenie, a new series based on the book The World of Stephanie St. Clair: An Entrepreneur, Race Woman and Outlaw in the Early Twentieth Century Harlem by Shirley Stewart. Adapted by Leigh Davenport, the series tells the true story of Stephanie St. Clair, who was “the most profitable female ‘numbers banker’ in an illegal underworld run by the most vicious and notorious of men” in the 1920s and ’30s. Henson would produce the project under her TPH Entertainment banner alongside Christine and Mark Holder of Wonder Street.

Jane Harper Announces New Novel Exiles

Jane Harper has announced her latest novel Exiles. The author wrote on Instagram, “Aaron Falk returns one last time, and it’s been both fantastic and bittersweet to bring together this final story for him… I’ve loved writing this story, it’s been a really special one, so I hope you enjoy it.” Exiles will be out in Australia on September 20th. The book will be released in the US and UK in early 2023.

Netflix Releases Trailer for First Kill

Only a few days after Netflix released the first images for its upcoming series First Kill, the streaming platform released its trailer. First Kill is based on the short story by V.E. Schwab, which was originally published in the 2020 anthology Vampires Never Get Old: Tales With Fresh Bite. The series comes out on Netflix on June 10th.
