- The Charleston County Public Library joins the increasing list of libraries boycotting Macmillan Publishing, although in this case, the library is boycotting Macmillan titles in ALL formats, not just digital.
- In West Virginia, inmates in ten prisons are provided with “free” tablets, but are charged $0.05/minute to read eBooks that are primarily found via Project Gutenberg, which provides FREE access to public domain and CC-licensed eBooks.
- Three loaded handguns were found inside a restroom at the Burton Barr Central Library in Phoenix last month.
- The architectural firm that designed the Hunters Point Library brushes off concerns of accessibility.
- The Kalamazoo (MI) and Memphis Public Libraries will eliminate late fines in 2020.
