Hey YA Readers!
Let’s catch up with the latest in YA news and new YA books. I hope you, like me, are enjoying so many great books hitting shelves so far this year. I know I’ve been plowing through a lot during these stretches of cold midwest weather.
YA Book News
- Michelle Obama’s memoir is getting a young reader edition in March. Beyond the accessibility for younger readers not ready to tackle the full book, one of the things I love about Young Reader Editions is they are perfect for adult readers who are maybe not jazzed by such long books, too.
- On the topic of the Obamas, their deal with Netflix means they’ve slated an adaptation of the upcoming Native YA book Firekeeper’s Daughter.
- A really lovely profile of YA author Hafsuh Faizal in the New York Times.
- Jenny Han’s other solo series, The Summer I Turned Pretty, is getting an adaptation. I can’t wait — I really loved this one.
- Eric Walter’s series The Rule of Three has been optioned for screen, too.
