Paper Girls Comic Book Creators Rave Over Netflix Adaptation
Paper Girls comic book creators Brian K. Vaughan and Cliff Chiang say that watching their comic series be adapted for the small screen was one of the “happiest experiences.” Chiang said, “To see actresses really inhabit these roles has been really thrilling. And it’s amazing to see how they’ve expanded on the story. I think it’s a show that will reward people who are fans of the comic, but also people who’ve never read it.” Regarding the casting, Vaughan added, “We comic nerds are so specific in what we want out of our adaptations, and we’re never happy…and universally anyone who’s read Paper Girls the moment they see that trailer they’re like, ‘Oh, my God, they got it completely right.'” Paper Girls will premiere in full on Prime Video on Friday, July 29th.
