Room Broadway Production Shuttered Due to Lack of Funding, Lead Producer Withdrawal

The Broadway production of Room, which was in rehearsals, has been postponed indefinitely. The production announced earlier today that it would not be moving forward due to a “shortfall in capitalization” and the withdrawal of a lead producer. Room, with Adrienne Warren in the lead role, was set to begin performances on April 3, 2023 at the James Earl Jones Theatre. Producer Hunter Arnold said in the press release, “We are incredibly disappointed not to be able to open this remarkable production at this time and are especially heartbroken for our incredibly talented cast and creative team who were hard at work in the rehearsal room.” All purchased tickets will be refunded.
